Importance of watching – Part 1

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:41

This is a command given by Jesus to His disciples. The disciples who had seen many of the miracles that Jesus had performed. They had heard the best sermons. They were walking with Jesus for around 3 years. Yet Jesus told them watch and pray. This shows that anyone can be tempted. Temptations come to everyone, but the person who doesn't give in to the temptations, but overcomes it, conquers it, is called an overcomer, called more than a conqueror.

You can be tempted to give up, you can be tempted to leave your integrity, you may be tempted to do time-pass at your work place, you may be tempted to work only as an eye pleaser, you may be tempted to cheat on your spouse, you may be tempted to worry, when you don't see things happening or when you don't understand how its going to happen, you also may be tempted to stop believing for your healing, stop believing for you promotion, even your job, your marriage etc. When the answers to your prayers are delayed, you will be tempted to stop coming to God and even question God's power. There are many things of which you can be tempted. Temptations come to you, when you are weak or when you are least expecting. Weakness is when you are under stressful conditions or when you have been praying and you haven't got the answers to your prayers. The time you least expect temptations are when you are successful and doing very good in life. Everything that you touch is becoming gold. These are the times when you ought to be more careful.

When you are not keeping well, you are admitted in the hospital. You are under the doctors direct care and the doctor regularly checks you. This means, that when you are weak, you need a regular check up and also take medicines. The doctor is God and God has kept His servants to keep a regular check on you and give you the right medicine from His word. God's word is the medicine. When you hear, read the word of God and the messages that I send, it is a medicine for your bones and soul. I pray for you and you are under my daily care. Be careful, no matter how strong you are in the word, no matter who you are rich or poor, you can be tempted. But if you feed yourself with the word of God i.e medicine, you will stand strong and overcome all temptations. This means your faith and you are strong in what you believe.
