Patience is powerful – Part 1

But we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint- hearted, sustain the weak, be patient towards all. I Thessalonians 5:14

Many of us have to develop this characteristic of patience. We are so impatient that we want to see things happening now. But the truth is that there is great power in patience. The day that you realise the power in patience you will be patient.

You have to patient with God, patient with yourself and also patient with others. Some are patient with God when they pray and wait for a blessing. But when they are praying for a change in themselves, they are so impatient that they want it happening immediately. They forget that the seed of goodness is sown, it takes time to grow and yield fruit. A good farmer sows and waits for the crops to yield fruit. After waiting patiently, he is happy when he sees the fruit of his patience. God has stressed many times to wait on Him. In different ways, He has spoken, “Stand still and see My salvation. “Wait on Me.” “Those who wait on my will rise up with wings like eagles.”

Waiting time is not your losing time. You don't lose anything when you wait. Instead God is preparing you to come at the place where you will take a leap like an eagle and rise high in the sky. God has said, “The good work that I have begun I will complete it.” God knows how and when to complete His work and take another assignment in your life. God said, “I will hasten things in my time.” You relax and give your times in God's hands.
